Examiners' Report. Easter, 1904. Class I.--The work of this class is on the whole quite satisfactory, except in a few cases of beginners. There is manifest improvement on the Christmas examination, the weak points and subjects then having received attention. Bible Lessons, History, Tales, and National History are very good. Class II.--The number of subjects submitted for examination shows improvement, a higher average number being attempted: but still further advance is needed to be quite satisfactory. History, including French History, has again been well studied and mastered, the general result being above the average in this subject. Bible Lessons are again excellent, Spelling of Dictation Exercises, good; Writing, very fair; English Grammar fair; Arithmetic, very good. Class III.--A very satisfactory examination in this class. Arithmetic shows greater accuracy and the general result is very satisfactory. History, with French History and Natural History are excellent. Physical Geography is very well mastered by a few, but is g generally found difficult either to explain or understand. General Geography is very good. Dictation is exceedingly well done, Writing, very good. Composition is also good. Botany and physiology, fairly good. Euclid does not reach a good standard nor is the subject attempted by many. English Grammar: Analysis is not strong, but parsing is good. Class IV.--The number of papers sent up in this class is less than usual. The work, however, generally reaches a high standard, except in Mathematics. Bible Lessons, History and Literature are excellent. Algebra and Euclid, with the exception of a few really very good papers, can scarcely be considered satisfactory. Arithmetic is rather better done than usual. (Signed) J.B. In German, a more thorough knowledge of Grammar most desirable. Class II. shows very creditable results of oral teaching. (Signed) M. D. Très peu des réponses pour l'examen franç. Soignex la prononciation chose très importante. (Signed) J. M. ----- Papers will be returned on receipt of postage. ----- Mother's Educational Course. ----- P.N.E.U.
