The Parents' ReviewA Monthly Magazine of Home-Training and Culture"Education is an atmosphere, a discipline, a life." ______________________________________ Art Club.Volume 13, 1902, pg. 744 This Club is open to any readers of the Review, either lady or gentleman. The terms are 6s. for six months. All work marked for exhibition is criticised by Mr. David Murray, A.R.A., on the yearly "Pupils' Show Day," in Miss Stewart Wood's studio, Vine Court Studio, Holland Street, Kensington. All particulars of the Club can be obtained from Miss A. Y. Davidson, Secretary, 41, Bessborough Gardens, London, S.W. MAY TO NOVEMBER, 1902. Subjects for September. I.--Twilight. Very beautiful effects are to be seen in the half lights just after sundown. The broad harmonious effects must not be meant to hide bad drawing. The drawing must be done quite severely first, and then lost when finding the exact values of the objects seen in the deepening gloom. Note that immediately after sundown the ground often appears strangely light. Typed by happi, Feb. 2021; Proofread by LNL, Apr. 2021 |
