1. The prize of Five Guineas offered for the best story dealing (suggestively) with the subject of "Growing-up Daughters" lapses, for the reason stated in our March number. Several very good stories have been received, only just falling short of the standard fixed. This prize is again offered under the same conditions (see March number), substituting "Sons" for "Daughters." MSS. to be sent to the Publishers by December 5th. 2. The prize of One Guinea, for the best "Memoir of an Infant," has been awarded to "T. & S." The two best Stories we have received are "Unprepared" and that written by "F.P." The second best "Memoir" is by "Gipsy." Drawing Prizes.--For the Best Pair of Shoes: First prize, Shrimp; second prize, Juniper; Special Mention, Daisy, Yelverton Fay, Snipe; Commended, New Carpet, G. Radford, M. Radford, Turner, Haratius, Quinde, Cagon, Sunflower, Evangeline, Jubilee Sovereign, Portia, L. Arnold, Boy Blue, Cherry, Strevins, and G. Butt. The Prize-winners are requested to send their names and addresses to Mrs. Steinthal, Wharfemead, Ilkley.
